  Dr. Ellis earned her Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Family Relationships at Cornell University. She obtained a Masters degree in Health Education from Columbia University and a second Masters degree in Psychology from Hofstra University. She obtained her doctorate in psychology from Hofstra University. She studied at and earned the Primary Certificate in Rational Emotive Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City, formerly known as the Institute for Advanced Study in Rational Psychotherapy at the Institute for Rational Emotive Therapy. Dr. Ellis taught college for two years in the field of Health Education. She worked as a Licensed Psychologist in schools, mental health clinics, hospitals, and private practice. She has been in private practice as a licensed psychologist in Pinellas County, Florida for over 30 years.
