Exceptional Student Education Laws and Rules:  An Introduction for Mental Health Practitioners 

Presented by Elite DNA Therapy Services and the Calusa Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association

Learning Objectives

Participant will be able to:

1.  Recognize the 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, how to qualify for a 504 plan, and typical accommodations for common disabilities in children and adolescents.

2.  Utilize the response to intervention process and how its processed in Florida.

3.  Recognize what an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is and the components of the IEP meeting.

4.  Recognize how to participate in the 504 plan, respond to the intervention process and the development of the IEP.

Approved for 6 hours of general continuing education credits.
