Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

OCD: Faith & Scrupulosity

1.      Differentiate between scrupulosity and its impact on the OC sufferer and appropriate faith belief.

2.      Explain how the use of faith-based interventions in concert with CBT can dispel OC thoughts and actions.

3.      Apply faith initiatives (for faith-based clients) especially with clients with “poor insight” who do not recognize that the obsessions and compulsions are excessive or unreasonable

4.      Utilize faith initiatives that support the family member(s) of the OC sufferer. 

OCD: Co-Morbidities and Complexities

1.      Demonstrate awareness of the typical co-morbidities which occur in OCD.

2.      Understand how to utilize best practices and evidence-supported treatments (ESTs) in diagnosing and treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) presenting with co-morbid conditions.

3.       Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of the intricacies of case formulation and other typical complexities of OCD presenting with co-morbid conditions. 

Approved for 3 hours of general continuing education credits

Fees:  Free for FPA Members; $30 Non-FPA Members; $10 Non-FPA Student members; Free for International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) Members
