The Impact of Intimate Partner Violence on Children and Family Functioning - Brevard/Indian River Chapter

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

(1)   Describe recent research on the impact of interpersonal violence on children’s social-emotional functioning.

(2)   Explain early research on the prevalence and consequences of IPV among same-sex partners.

(3)   List the 12 steps recommended by Brancroft, Silverman and Ritchie (2012) in evaluating intervention success and the ability of batterers to safely parent.

(4)   Describe four research-informed recommendations for addressing IPV in the dependencsystem and family court.

Approved for 2 hours of domestic violence continuing education credits.
