Informing your Practice:  What Happens when it's More Than Just ASD? - Pinellas Chapter


Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the nature, phenomenology and functional impairment associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

2. Recite multiple examples of barriers to effective psychosocial and pharmacological treatment of common psychiatric conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, eating disorders) attributable to the presence of comorbid ASD

3. Discuss and list multiple evidence-based modifications to psychosocial and pharmacological techniques specifically designed to address ASD-related treatment barriers

4. Discuss and provide resources (bibliotherapy, training opportunities, etc.) regarding ASD-related treatment issues that are salient to families, clinicians and researchers.


Approved for 2 hours of general continuing education credits
