The Psychologists of Florida Political Action Committee Launches its 2023 PAC-a-thon!

On an annual basis, the Psychologists of Florida Political Action Committee (PAC) launches its annual PAC-a-thon. This year is no different- except we have had a BIG WIN! PSYPACT legislation was signed into law by the Governor in early June! This allows Florida psychologists the opportunity to practice telehealth in other states that are members of PSYPACT beginning July 1, 2023.

This could not have been possible without the work of volunteer Florida psychologists who wrote and proposed the PSYPACT bill to the Florida Legislature and the multi-year lobbying efforts by Florida Psychological Association's Legislative Advocacy and Public Policy Board (LAPPB), Executive Director, and contract lobbyist. All of these efforts cost money- and contributions to the PAC helped make it happen!

Now is the time to keep the momentum going and make a contribution to the PAC. The PAC assists the Florida Psychological Association (FPA) with: opposing legislation that limits or threatens all Florida psychologists’ scope of practice, promoting bills that help expand our practices (like PSYPACT and prescription privileges), and fighting against bills that threaten access to mental health care for Floridians. The PAC also financially supports candidates who are critical to achieving these objectives.

The results of the PAC-a-thon will be announced at the 2023 FPA Virtual Convention on September 22nd.

We’ve just had a huge win, let’s keep it going! Contribute now!
