Psychological Aspects of HIV/AIDS - North East Chapter

 

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

 

1. Explain basic virology, transmission, and disease stages of HIV/AIDS

2. Discuss effects of HIV on the brain

3. Discuss the high rates of psychiatric comorbidity in patients affected by HIV

4. Describe evidence based psychological and psychiatric treatments for patients with HIV and comorbid mental illness

 

Approved for  2 hours of general continuing education credits.
